Personal achievements
As a competitive single skater I was a British Championship medallist at Primary, Junior and Senior levels a total of 9 times. Additionally, I have been Welsh Champion at all levels and also Scottish Senior Mens Champion.
For eight years I was a member of the National Ice Skating Association’s National Development Squad. During that time I represented Great Britain on numerous occasions at International competitions winning silver and bronze medals. I also competed twice at World Junior Championships. I was taught by a Master rated coach who was formerly voted Coach of the Year.
In 1996 I joined an elite group becoming the first British skater for 20 years to pass the Gold Star free skating test.
I have coached all ages and abilities, including children and adults, starting at grass roots with the ‘Skate UK’ learn to skate programme, through to British and European Championship level. As a skating choreographer, I have worked with numerous skaters of all abilities.
Having trained in both the United States and Canada and alongside Russian coaches, I’ve a varied knowledge of available skating techniques for both on and off ice training.
Outside of competitive skating I have performed at numerous ice shows and galas including work for Olympic Champion Robin Cousins, 'Cousins Entertainment' company.
Currently, I hold a position as a committee member of the Solihull Sports Council.
